Special tools must be used to press the shock absorber into place during installation to avoid forceful impacts that could deform the metal or damage the rubber. Since the top mount is a wear part, it is recommended to check it every 80,000 kilometers. Replace it immediately if cracks, hardening, or abnormal noises appear. When replacing, simultaneously check the shock absorber for oil leaks. If the shock absorber is faulty, simply replacing the top mount will not completely solve the problem. Furthermore, the installation location of the top mount may vary depending on the vehicle model; for example, some models require installation from the wheel side. Strictly follow the repair manual.
Compared to ordinary rubber bumpers, shock absorber top mounts must withstand higher frequency dynamic loads. Therefore, fatigue-resistant agents are added to the rubber compound, and a vulcanization process is used to improve durability.
